I need funding for my RallyX project. And I have another offroad project that needs to get started.
Look in my gallery for pics if your not familiar with it.
If you need more info, ask and I will post it here.

Let me know if theres any interest.
Its not going to be cheap, but not over the top either.

Ok, I just realized I have quite a few pics in my gallery and it could take a little looking to find them, so I'll post a few up here.

It probably doesn't need a testimonial but here's one anyway.

It is very capable. He has followed Zap and myself many times with this. It is a turnkey ride and should sell as such. Whoever gets this will be ready for just about any offroad meet that comes up.

The list:

10in lift. Built originally by Mudrat and one of the PO's.
Divorced Nissan t-case coupled to a 5spd D/R.
30x.50x15 SuperSwamperTSL's on redrilled Chevy 6 lug wheels(with spare)
4.11 front a rear diffs, the rear is locked.
Disc brakes on all 4.
Bullet proof Hyd EA81 with Weber.
Cooling system is NEW.
Power steering.
Brand new Optima battery.
Cobra CB.
Offroad lights on roof, a pair of lights in the rear.
Obligatory panel damage(beauty marks) but nothing bad.
I'm probably missing a few things. I've driven this to Hood River for WCSS8 and to Shelton for WCSS9. Made a few trips to Rieter Trails and lots of trips to Evans Creek. It does very well on the road and even better off.

Thanks Ken for the support and Connie....it will be here when you arrive, dont worry.

I'm asking $3k, but its negotiable. But dont try to lowball me

If you want to trade something, it better be special ;)

Interior pics of a gnarly off roader? Dude. Shelton is about 40 minutes away from Rob. Just drive up there and see it in person. You'll want it.

I havent cleaned the interior (or ext) since last years WCSS9.
If you want to see it, set up a date and time with me.
Otherwise....sho me the $$$$.

I dont know, Russ might be driving his 3 door down this year
And I dont think he would do it 2yrs in a row, thats a long ass drive in that thing :-\
I've driven it to Hood River before, and its no picnic.
So, it may stay home for this years Show.

I don't even know if I'll be able to take the time off to go this year. Got another thing I gotta take time off for in June/July but if I don't end up taking the time off for that, then I should be there. If I'm not in my RX, I'll be in the 6.... or if worse comes to worse, I'll drive the hatchback again. JUST NO DAMN KIDS!!!!!!!!!

Time to bump this up again, its wheelin time.
The only thing this needs to be reliable offroad is a pair of front axles and new lower bushings for the shocks. But I have wheeled it pretty hard this way for almost 2yrs now.

Would you say it would be suitable for a short commute daily driver ? Any rust ?

clean title, smog tests ( if applicable there) etc?

Hahahahaha What kind of hellishly awesome commute do you have? Have you even seen his hatch?

Turbone

This would be a great commuter.........if you lived in the desert
Yes, it has a clear title.
No, it probably wont pass emissions. It has a Weber carb.
In a few more years it should be emissions exempt tho.

I guess I should update this page with a pic.

hahaha obviously the commute is normal roads ... but I can't afford an offroad only toy, so it would have to be fine with some daily highway action.

it'd be older than 24 (1986) years right ?

from my local DMV type place :-
In all counties, cars older than 24 years are considered antique and are exempt from emissions testing.

just reading more, also visually check things like cat converter, pcv breather etc.... with a weber, the second is probably not right...

Turbone
02-15-2010, 10:53 AM
Well, if its exempt from emissions it shouldnt matter if it has a cat or PCV I assume.
Its been driven many freeway miles to a couple of WCSS, but its no picnic to drive at higher speeds (noise from tires).
It also has a tendency to attract attention when on the road.
Havent had anyone crash yet, but lots of rubber necking.
How would you get it to Austin?

Yeah, it's exempt from emissions testing, but they still need to eyeball cat / PCV on anything newer than '84 or '68 respectively from what I've read. What year is it ?

I'd have to get it shipped down to austin, a bit too far to drive an unfamiliar car :)

Problem is there's so many grey-areas in the inspections that I don't know if I can be sure enough it will pass to risk it.

Turbone
02-15-2010, 02:58 PM
Its a 86.
Its been a long time since I've been under it (tranny 2yrs ago), but I think it still has a cat and a PCV. I'll try and take a look soon.

Caboobaroo
02-16-2010, 10:21 PM
LOL, I personally would not DD this car but to each their own......

I drove it from Tacoma, Washington to Astoria, Oregon. It was not very much fun and I hurt everywhere by the time we got there... And I was half deaf from the noise, lol

Turbone
02-16-2010, 11:45 PM
And its about a 160mi drive too.

Qman
02-16-2010, 11:45 PM
It has a stock y-pipe. It has a PCV. The Weber may be a problem with an inspection but it is considered a replacement part. A short commute would not be real rough with this car. A commute of longer than 10-20 miles a day would wear on the average person.

I think this Hatch would fit in very well in Texas. You know... everything is bigger in Texas, right?!?
