Hi everybody, I have two cars in Brooklyn and am tired of parking tickets. For sale is a 1985 Subaru GL manual 2wd. It is a beautiful light metallic green with some cosmetic rust. 206,000 miles.
It runs fine and looks alright. Main problem is a slight oil drip onto the exhaust pipe which causes a little bit of smoke when you come to a stop after driving for an hour or so. I'm including a set of seals for the oil pump. The valve cover gaskets have already been replaced. In the two years I've had it I have done the timing belts. The tires have at least half a life left. I have done a bunch of other little things and regular oil and filter changes.
Since I've owned it i have driven to Virginia a couple times (700 miles roundtrip), Montauk (300 miles rt), camping in the Adirondacks (800 miles rt), and various locations in the tri state area and pennsylvania for junkyarding. It will do 75 on the highway all day reliably.
And just as a bit of trivia it placed a close 2nd in novice and 5th overall in the 2007 Pine Barrens Express road rally. Yeah, we topped the STI's and the EVO's!
Basically its a great beater for driving stuff around and a great city car. As you can see I dig this car and I would like for someone who likes these cars to buy it and keep it around for a little longer. Call steven at 347 512 5044 if you are interested. $400 obo.
