The gasket on the bottom of the passenger side cover is wet. I'm keeping an eye on it but it appears to leak a bit. Is there enough room in the engine compartment to remove the cover and replace the gasket? Is there a benefit from replacing both sides, other than they are probably sold as a set?

Plenty of different gaskets to contend with, as Tiny is pointing out.

But to answer your question: Yes, there is enough room to get the valve train covers off...but it is tight. The cover can just clear the valve components, so I recommend washing down everything before you open it up, or you might get some grit and grime inside the engine.

Does this engine also have the little boots (washers) around the valve cover bolts? That's where mine leaked and the oil just made it's way down. Feel around the bolts to try to determine actual source of leaks. The suggestion to clean the engine first and then do some diagnosis before opening her up is a good tip.
