Concidering EA82 Rebuild...

Recommended Posts

I've read the threads on toybuilders EA82T Rebuild and was just wondering because neither me or my dad has done a subaru rebuild, so do you replace the cylinders? Could someone give me a list of things that are done, such as which parts to replace along w/ rebuild such as water pump... oil pump... etc.. thanks again guys for your help and suggestions

no the cylinders are not like a Vdub motor. they are part of the engine case.

you may want to pick up a decent repair manual. I have used the haynes books for engine repair with good luck. of course the factory books are the best but are harder to find and more $$$.

you will need a 14MM allen socket and a piston pin remover of some type in adition to the standard engine building tools.

I forget who it was but some one used the long 14 MM tensioner nut instead of an allen to remove the case plugs.
