Blower motor resistor 'blow by blow'?

Recommended Posts

The blower switch on one of my Legacies has ceased to operate in Positions 1, 2 and 3. Everything works in Position 4. I assume the problem is the blower motor resistor?

Can anybody give me a 'blow by blow' account of how to get at it and replace it please?

I had some leaves, pine needles, seeds etc. on the bottom of the box which I was able to blow out, and also sprayed some mold killer on the evap. It would be a different matter if the evap. core is all gummed up, but it's important to know that the resistor hole gives access to the evaporator.
