(of course! hehe) Was all snowy but as of last weekend I guess it's clear. And open. The area was off limits when I was up there. (active logging) See ya saturday on the trails! I may be tempted to hit up the dunes at some point soon as well. I just got a flag and such mounted on the Soob today at lunch. TeamCF Posted June 15, 2008 Share Posted June 15, 2008 Had a blast. I showed earlier than the rest so I did a lap before finding them on the CB. Then we all did some wheeling together. But on my lap I hit up: University Firepower. (just reopend this weekend!) Awesome climb on that trail. Long and somewhat steep. All the Powerline trails. (except Little Rubicon) Hogsback a few times. The snow is all gone! Cedar Tree. I love that trail. Over three miles long and twisty and hilly and rocky. Got the manual steering cardio workout. And some blisters on the hands. First time that happened. Hood Riser. An easy but always fun run. And some general messing around on whatever place to play came along. Forgot my camera but I got some pics and vid with my phone. 1st gen Brat hill climb. Going under the tree on Cedar tree. Up near the top of Hogsback. A trail that we didn't go down. It was a little pain trying to keep from losing momentum going around corners on the street but I have pulled that rear axle in the back so many times that it just comes out in 10 min. I've shredded my rear tires goin for those climbs I could never do before. Actually trying to find some glue to put tread blocks back on fully. (got some half cut off floppers.) Traction is awesome though. But I can only afford one set of cheap tires every couple years so the open diff may have to go back on to keep me sedated on the trails. :-\ Guess I'd rather hit up easy trails often, than spend all my gas $$ on stuff to keep the Roo working for more hardcore stuff. Hittin' TSF early sunday with a bunch of Jeeps. And that would be kind of pushing it locked all the way there. But the problem is not with the wear with the very little (comparatively) pavement time it sees. It's that now I have the ability to go places that are alot harder on the tires and such. I was out at the gravel pits last night past Estacada up 4610. I went up to the upper pit and proceded to climb just about all of it. Even the big ones in the back. But afterwards my tires were just cut all up. I just bought these, can't afford another set right now. :-\ Although they did say that the road hazard warranty covers off road too...... It was fun though. Just have to keep the nasty rock hillclimbs to a minimum. My wallet says "give up the welded rear, you can't afford the results." But I just don't think I can do that after beholding the power. Now That I found out Cooper makes an All-Terrain tire in 195/75/14 (my size). I'll just have to fill up the change jar and get a set. (about $100 a pop for those ones, cheaper than swampers and in my size) But Cooper does say they make them in my size. I have to just go to the shop I got the original info from when I was getting a tire fixed and ask them. Proly have it thier computer. Not super hardcore tires, but I'm sure way more tough than the cheapo car tires I'm running. A couple links. I don't know if the first one will work right though. The second one goes to the spec page for the tires, no pics though. They have the generic 4 row block tread.
