Hello Subaru Friends, my name is rick and I bought a forester 4 or 5 years ago, now at 207,000 miles i think i need a timing belt replaced, is there anyone who can give me some info on this? is there anyone from around Manitowoc, WI whom i can trust to install for me, please let me know, I planned on taking a trip home to GR MI to see my family for the holidays and the car died last night.

John, Sorry about that. I work overnights so the best time to reach me is from around 12:30 AM to 6:30 AM or leave a message and I'll try to get back to you if I'm awake during the day. Nothing here for sale, sorry. My friend Charlie Dow might have a car since he is a mechanic who buys/fixes/and sells cars. He's having some difficulties right now so if you or your brother call him please just call once and leave a message. 860-303-3840. He's a great guy and always has cheapy beaters. But he's upstate closer to Rhode Island, about another hour and 15 min. past my place coming in from NY heading east. Talk to you soon, Paul

i bought a brand new 2006 forester, and within 8000 miles the front tires were worn to the belts.(ruining the front tires.) the dealer said the alignment was within specs but they would not adjust it. i took the car to my own mechanic for an alignment adjustment and new tires.($390) has anyone else been sold a new subaru with alignment problems that subaru will not cover?

Hey, thanks for the comments. Its pretty easy to get pics up once you know the routine. It took me a while to figure it out too. First you have to upload whatever pics you want to post onto the web. Somewhere like the gallery here, or facebook, or wherever. Just somewhere online. Then when you make a post here or wherever, I usually open a seperate browser to where the pics are located. Then you RIGHT click on the image, go to PROPERTIES. you should see a weblink there where the image is stored. copy that link, then in your post above where you type in the text there are a bunch of little graphic thingies. You want the one that looks like a postcard with a mountain in it. Click on that and then paste in the link to the pic. If it worked correctly then you should see the pic in your post as you are typing, if for any reason the link got copied wrong or whatever then you won't see it. That's about it. I hope that helped.

Hey Jibs, I just browsed your Thanksgiving trip posting. Nice photos af great but desolate country, there in NV! But I have a techy question for you. How do you imbed an image into the text of your posting?? I've been on the board a few years and have yet to figure that trick out... I've uploaded images from my computer, but keep running out of space for attachments and I but don't know how to put them in the text (which of coarse would be much better)... Thanks man, -mark-
