hawksoob
I've heard mixed things about this: Mixing coolant - pour in coolant, then top off with water? Or pre mix in a separate container and then pour?
nuburu2
Mix coolant 50/50 with distilled H20 and use in that form. Can't believe you'd be hearing anything different! Not rocket science! Glenn O
Setright
Mix before pouring it in!
99obw
It depends. If topping off the coolant use the appropriate mix of distilled water and anti-freeze. When changing the coolant, after flushing the system with distilled water, empty out as much of the water as possible, close the drain, then add anti-freeze to make the desired mixture based on the system capacity, then top off with distilled water. For example, if your system capacity is 4 gallons you would add 2 gallons of anti-freeze and then top off with distilled water to make a 50:50 mix. Sometimes removing the lower radiator hose is necessary to get enough water out after flushing to add the necessary amount of anti-freeze. 1 Lucky Texan
Probably do a search on coolant refilling too, soobs like to 'retain air'. Tricky sometimes to purge it out.
howards11
To top off I started using a 50/50 premix. Makes things easier. ~Howard
nuburu2
OK 99obw, you can make it rocket science if you like Oh, never mind. Glenn O
99obw
Well, I didn't make it any more complicated than need be. And yes, not that I am a rocket scientist, but it certainly isn't rocket science.
