1 Lucky Texan Posted February 7, 2004 Share Posted February 7, 2004 Possibly being sprayed or 'boiled' out when driving and blowing back under the car. Though it seem like it would also be on other components. Have you looked at your coolant level? How long since you had a new rad cap? Any overheating or other probelms lately? Nope, that is the Phase II, he has a Phase I, prone to HG failures between the combustion chamber and cooling jacket. Has the level in the overflow tank ever risen unexpectedly? ts johnson Posted February 8, 2004 Author Share Posted February 8, 2004 I've never noticed the heater blowing cold. I Don't reallylook at the coolant enough to know if it has risen "suddenly". I do look at it weekly though. I dont know maybe the very beginning of a head gasket leak? It has 79800 miles and never a hg replacement to my knowledge. SevenSisters Posted February 8, 2004 Share Posted February 8, 2004 Check all your components for leaks: coolant overflow tank Radiator Radiator hoses/connections Thermostat housing Heater hoses Freeze plugs maybe some more? Look at the front of your timing belt cover to see if there are any drips that would indicate a leaking water pump. It's a little icy right now. How much coolant should the cooling enigine suck back in? It's only taking back like 2 inches out of the overflow.
