Guest GlCraigGT
Hey guy, some of the pages on the USRM have blue text on a different blue background. Could somone change either of those colors because i find them impossible to read without getting a headache.

Guest SubaruJunkie
There is a whole new USRM in the works. Everything will be easy to find and easy to read. CarFreak. You need to be more descriptive... which brush guard? There are alot of different brush guards avail for EA81's. What kind do you have, and what type of problems are you running into during installation? -Brian
Guest carfreak85
i have a factory EA81 long pushbar. everything bolts up except the two front mounts. the chrome bar mounts to a horizontal thing and the mounts for the push bar want to mount vertically. PS i remember you had a How To for this install but your old site doesnt work.
Guest SubaruJunkie
Yeah, it doesnt work anymore... i'll have to re-add it, or add it to the USRM. Im doing a bunch of work and we're almost ready to unveil it... just be patient. You need to remove that chrome bar in order to get your pushbar to bolt on. If you have a plastic bumper, it will make things more difficult. I put a long style pushbar on my brat last week... i had to remove the chrome bar, bolt the bar up to the engine cross member, and use a car jack to jack the pushbar up and get it into place. -Brian
Guest carfreak85
yeah i do have the plastic bumpers. i guess i have different extentions because the bar wants to bolt to the chassis on a vertical plane and the chassis wants the bar to bolt on to a horizontal plane. any pics you could send me? Guest SubaruJunkie
You dont really need to worry about those front mounts. That threaded bolt welded to the pushbar is there to bolt another extension to. That extension runs up and is bolted to the underside of your bumper.... not the bolts for that chrome bar. You might be able to get someone to bend some steel or fab a mount that bolts to where the chrome bar goes, and bends so you can bolt it to the pushbar. I have installed 3 of these pushbars on cars with plastic bumpers. only once have i had the extensions for the bumper. My Brat doesnt have them. The bar fits so snug against the bumper, im not worried about it falling out of place. I do have pictures, but no available right now. I'll try to get them up soon for you. Just bolt up the rear to the crossmember, those are the only bolts you should need. Unless you plan on whinching your car out of a mud-hole by the pushbar. -Brian
Guest ShawnW
You guys are going to like the new USRM. Its not worth the effort to fix the old one with us workin on the new one. For now please resort to copy/paste from the old to notepad or similar on your local machine so you can read the text. It wont be long and there will be no more inconsistancy in colors on the pages. Thanks for your patience and support in all the migrations going on.
Guest GeneralDisorder
Yeah - I have the same pushbar, and he's right - it's pretty solid with just the cross member bolts. I had the 2WD chrome bumper tho, and had to remove it because it's too big for the A bar to fit over. I replaced it with a bumper that I built, and since I did have the extension bars for my bar, I welded them to the new bumper it just the right places. Here's some pics: GD
Guest Subi81
I had the same problem you are having. My solution was to make two mounting brakets out of channel Iron if you give me your e-mail I can send you some pics. Subaru DID make offical mounting tabs but I have only seen one set and I can't remember where I saw them. Good luck
