Question about Gates Timing belt Differences

I know this question was asked a long time ago and could not find thru "search"..does anybody know the difference between the Gates belt(s) T304/T307..both have the same demensions and exchange interval..would the teeth be slightly different??

Yes, there's a difference in the teeth between the 304 and 307 belts. See:

so if your car takes a Gates 307 timing belt..then you can not upgrade to the older style tensioner without also getting the matching TB ( has a different length requirement and tooth design) plus all toothed pulleys or wheels would also have to exchanged to fit the different belt

FWIW if you want to save some money on that belt, buy a T-belt from NAPA. They are made by Gates, and resonably priced. I just did a reseal on my 99 Lego. I bought all my parts there and was curious about the belt. Sure enough on the back of the box it said manuf by gates for NAPA. I was like cool!

WRONG. There is no difference in belts. If you don't beleive me, do a search at RockAuto. It gives tooth count, and dimensions for each belt.
