invest in a valve removal tool and a dremel(with snake atatcment), and PORT THE HEADS

instant turbo response, better bottom end, better high rpm

if you had a carb block laying around, go with that.

cut out the airbox, install a cherry bomb

what we did with the RX, costs us no more than the gasket set, and a hand ful of dremel bits

look far enough and you will see the ported heads

Should I do the timing chains at the same time(sounds like a good idea to me but...)?

Do I need a lift to get it(engine)out or could 2 of us lift it out?

what about a lift kit but with the same tires 195 70r 13?

Waht are a good set for on and off roading?

Thanx fox.

oh ya how bout a turbo rehab...do I need?

its a good idea to replace the timing belts unless you just replaced them. If you do go with Genuine Subaru timing belts or else you'll end up replacing them in a few thousand miles.

As for lifting the engine out, if you have about 3 or 4 strong friends, its possible but it would be a lot easier and faster to do it with a engine lift.

Aslo, if you plan on lifting it, why would you wanna go with the same size tires? I'd get a set of 14" Pug steels and put some offroad tires on them OR get a set of 6-lug Chevy rims and redrill them to fit the Subaru lug pattern.

As for the turbo, there's no really cheap way to get around this. You can either find one in a j/y with low miles on it, find one on ebay or you can rebuild it yourself but the rebuild kit is 150 bucks alone.......

I was able to lift the engine in and out with three people, two lifting and one supervizing but we did it minus alt, and ac. Just make sure you get a really strong board or better yet metal pipe. Ours broke on the way back into the engine bay, Good luck!!
