howpow Posted September 16, 2010 Share Posted September 16, 2010 Hello all. I have an 87 xt turbo (vortex) and was wondering what is required to mate an EJ22 engine to the 5 speed 2wd manual gearbox. idosubaru Posted September 16, 2010 Share Posted September 16, 2010 maybe it would be easier to just get an EJ22 FWD trans to drop in with it? they're a dime a dozen around here, what's the supply like over there? not sure what that would do to your gearing, shouldn't be problematically (wow what a word) different but an EJ might be geared better for the power anyway?
