GeneralDisorder Posted October 11, 2010 Share Posted October 11, 2010 First you tell us what you are working on - then we tell you if it's likely or not. Then if it is you take the heads and have them pressure tested after you remove them. It's a head gasket job either way - most of the time the gasket's blow rather than the heads actually cracking. firstsubi Posted October 11, 2010 Author Share Posted October 11, 2010 sorry 92 loyale 5 speed ea82. I was reading another post and they were asking about a gurgling sound. I know i have a slow coolant leak and figured the gurgling was just some air from the slow leak. The other nite after I drove home and parked it I was sitting in the car and the car was off but the engine was making a noise that sounded like pop corn popping with a pulse. GeneralDisorder Posted October 11, 2010 Share Posted October 11, 2010 (edited) Probably not. It would be overheating if it was a head gasket. Fix your coolant leak. The gurgling sound is from air bubbles in the heater core, and the popping noise the expansion and contraction of the exhaust headers. Normal.
