subarubrat Posted February 29, 2004 Share Posted February 29, 2004 You can make a very good one yourself. Go to Ebay and get item 2463495714 for about $20. This is a filter adapter that will bolt directly to your MAF and gives you a K&N style (will also work with actual K&N filter) filter. After that you can get a sheet of aluminum at Home Depot and make a heat shield. I know this fits the XT6 MAF from personal experience, I cannot comment for certain on other MAFs. Skip Posted February 29, 2004 Share Posted February 29, 2004 Another thing you must consider is the support bracket for the MAF. As the airbox now is the mounting support. I use a flat plate of Al with a 90 deg break formed lip and bolt it to the frame below the MAF. Scott's idea of the AL flashing or other partition is an excellent sugg. The rad fan blows directly into this area. The inner fender opening can be opened by removing the muffler under the plastic inner liner. There's the one Subarubrat is recommending---> And one I recently purchased for my XT6---> I purchased the one above believing the other once was restrictive due to the corners being squared and not rounded off. They both are for the Toyota Previa. I ended up having a hardware store drill out the holes I needed in the above maf and it works fine. But it wasn't a direct fit.
