SuperRallyRoo
I am changing my ea81T wagon's fuel pump from a turbo fuel pump to a carbed fuel pump. Is there a way to stop the gas from flowing out all over me or do I have to crimp the lines with vice grips or something? And is this swap possible if I am using an 86 hatch fuel pump? Are they in the same location? Thanks.
moosens
Let the forward line drain down, there's not much in there. Then make sure you have your new pump ready.Take the feed line off the old pump and don't waste any time.Slam it on the new pump and you'll be done before you can bitch about it.Put your thumb over the end for that second or two if needed. You'll be fine. Got an extunquisher?
SuperRallyRoo
Shall I light up a fat one while I'm doing this? (Pun intended)

GLCraig
Did you convert your EA81T to a carbed EA81? Because the fuel pump from a carbed engine dosen't deliver enough fuel to get you down the road.
SuperRallyRoo
Yes we are in the process of doing this now. Kinda embarrasing.
