Never go over a month without changing your bad alternator.

picture.php?albumid=257&pictureid=3529

Never underestimate how many electrical connections exist.

picture.php?albumid=257&pictureid=3528

Never count out old technology, with the unusable carter carb.

picture.php?albumid=257&pictureid=3531

Never believe that all the fluid has drained out.

picture.php?albumid=257&pictureid=3530

Never think that if you ruined one part, a subaru guy doesnt have 50 others stashed in a box somewhere.

picture.php?albumid=257&pictureid=3532

Never say a single range transmission is ok when you have a dual range on the floor right behind you.

picture.php?albumid=257&pictureid=3534

Never suspect otherwise if you have ever taken your subaru offroad that a pile of mud isnt greating you underneath where said parts were.

picture.php?albumid=257&pictureid=3533

Never forget how old parts got you through the tough times. Thanks for the memories.

picture.php?albumid=257&pictureid=3535

Never forget that you didnt drain all the fluid out of the trans before you pulled it out of the junkyard allowing it to spill on the floor while your partner is telling you to get a bucket why you just sit there and say its ok 3 times.

picture.php?albumid=257&pictureid=3537

Never underestimate the power of a dude in the engine bay shot.

picture.php?albumid=257&pictureid=3536

Never think you shouldnt take another one.

Lifting the trans isnt normally a big deal but if you are leaning over the front of a lifted vehicle with the hood latch pressing into you its a little harder...

Reasons for going with ea81:

Only 106k miles

Already had it.

no timing belts

No old electrical components to deal with

no more worried about frying another ecu.

Cheaper to maintain

Easier to troubleshoot

Upgraded to dual range too. 140k.

Its in already. Just need to move the clutch/flywheel stuff over and yank off the intake manifold...

Weber is on its way...
