Well, you'll need stock 4WD suspension from a GL wagon. Preferably from '85-6. That will give you the adjustable struts and shocks. They discontinued the adjustable suspension in '87. It won't get much higher than the air suspension on high setting. The only way to get higher is to add a lift of some sort.

the lift prettymuch spaces the subframe from the body. the motor and axles will still be relative to eachother, but the whole assembly farther away from the body.

the whole idea is to allow room for bigger tires, which there is where your actual ground clearance will come from

some suspension tavel ideas have been pioneered, butthose ae the one-off fab jobs that come from creativity

Not saying that Qman is wrong. This is just an observation.

On my last wagon(88) I had the 85-86 4WD adjustable suspension.

On my current wagon(87), I have Loyale 4WD struts. These seem to be a little taller.. I have more room between my tires and fenders on this car.

Also, When set nexts to steve's 87 wagon (before the lift). my suspension height seemed about the same as his when his air suspension was in the top position (mine was actually a little taller because of larger wheels and tires, but when that difference was taken into account, they were abou the same.)
