Having sold Trashwagon10 to Milesfox, I can now make my move onto an '87 Numbchux swapped EJ22 D/R 5spd GL-10, which just so happens to be rust free. I have put money down already, and I will be picking up the car in Duluth, Minnesota on the 25th (16hr 800mile roundtrip non stop run) The plan would be to leave by 4am and get back, well, when we get back. I will be driving this car back down, as that will be a true test of the mechanical ability of those who have worked on this car.

I am looking forward to this car, and already have plans for it.

Pics and updates to come 2/26/12.

For now, this will be a Teaser...

This is going to be a good one.

I traveled about that far to pick up my wrx, and would do it again in a heartbeat. Never have I seen such a rust free, solid car. Well worth the time and the trip. Plus many good memories along the way. Have fun on your trip, I'm looking forward to see what you do with this one.

Details from when I sold the car to dude in upper MI, I deleted the work we had done to the EA82T that is now gone.

New 2 inch SJR lift kit

New radiator

New power steering rack

New ball joints, tie rod ends, and front end alignment

New front axles (EMPI)

New battery

New wipers

New front LED turn signals

New black rubber floor mats (4)

New fuel filter

Repaired front windshield washer pump and hose

Opened door panels to clean and grease the window mechanisms

Replace top of door panels as they were cracked

Items needing attention:

-When the trans was swapped by the previous owner, they made their own cross member. I have the correct factory cross members and they are included in the sale.

-Cruise control doesn't work

Includes

-a ready to run 1993 EJ22 with 190,000 miles from a 1993 Legacy

-SJR adapter kit (spacer plate and re-drilled flywheel)

-XT6 pitch stopper

-EJ donor car wiring harness that has been partially trimmed down but needs finishing

I would also like to get the hard vinyle headliner from a '85-'86 GL wagon sometime, to replace the sagging fabric liner in the GL10.

'85-'86 had the cool "Checked" style headliner. Fox, your 3-Door has the style I am talking about. Reminds me of the XT.

Did those cars have sun roofs too? Or will you have to do some cutting?

You want the brown headliner from the 85 gl wagon?

Does the gl-10 have a sunroof? it is brown, though. Maybe swap around and have a 2 tone interior and pretend it is rich walnut.

How is the original battery? If you get an optima, i will be interested in the leftover battery, as my spare got stolen out of my garage. MY 3-door is without battery at this moment.

I wouldn't want you to take something off that car which would drop the value, if you want to do it, sure, I'll toss you some coin for it. If not, thats ok too.

Yeah, the GL-10 has a Sunroof. Its been a while, so I don't remember what that headliner looked like design wise. I guess it would hang down lower then the standard one to compensate for the motor.

Guess I could always get some gray shag!

Not sure how the battery is, but sure, I'll give you the spare if its decent.

Have at it. the interior was compromised from hauling engines, there is no rear carpet, and the rocker trim that secures the carpet is missing on the driver side. This is a $300 car either way with the rear window being broken out.

If you want it, come for it this week before it sells. You can still take my 86 bumper if you need it right away.

Perhaps i can go with you to get this car and help drive. I have always wanted to see minnesota and meet chux in person. I suppose i should ask him if he needs any of my ea82 inventory (rx skirts, xt6 parts)

You would be welcome to come along, The date would be thr 25th, and probably get on the road about 4am. I could bring the Flip, and will bring my Fuji for photo doc.

I would go after the headliner, but I am thinking it will sit funky being not formed for a Sunroof. No biggie.

I will take you up on the bumper, and let me know a price. You would also still be inclinded to have the steel bumper, as I really don't wish to ship it haha.

well, we can trade, and then i can ship it, i suppose. Maybe i will try it out on the 3door. I like it and i dont. I like the shape, but i dont like that it is flush with the headlights. If it stuck out like a regular bumper, i would like it a lot better.

Right now i have all day to sit on a cumputer and answer emails, and going to the post office is my excuse to get out of the house for once.

I have sent out several packages this week and have transacted hudreds of dollars around that. So this is keeping me productive for the moment.

Just so you know, this car/bumper doesn't have the Hella lights and blinkers on it anymore. Guess the MI dude took them off when he was trying to sell the bumper. Bummer.

The main thing I don't like about the bumper is the big gaping hole (Where the lights used to be) and the point that it doesn't stick out very far. I suppose it gives a better approach angle, but with the stock rear bumper, you are still loosing the descent angle.

I would prefer this bumper more of a box style with brushguard and D-rings.

Thinking your return trip should down thru Michigan. Then you could stop by here.

Have to dig around in the shed, but may have front bumper off an '85-'86 Sedan here. Not sure at the moment......

Would really like to meet you Tom.

And Fox ain't been here in forever!!!

(Could even arrange for Rich to be here so you could meet him, seeeing as you donated towards his medical bills.)
