Not to bad on the price. You can get a new one on Ebay for $199. This adapter is better then the two piece redline adapter but then you cant use the tall air filter. http://www.tdperformance.com/site/?d=108&dt=108&Keyword=2107

Yeah maybe i will just pony up and buy one for 199. Can someone link the adapted, air filter, and any other parts I will need?

Its not hard at all. Just take your time, read through that right up on the basic swap and worry about pcv and stuff like that later.

Here is the air filter assembly to use if you go with the Datsun adapter.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Chrome-Air-FIlter-DGV-DGEV-Weber-Carbs-1-75-Tall-/130573053309?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item1e66c2ad7d

Use a piece if window screen to go over the Water hole on the intake under the carb and put some JB weld over it and let sit overnight before you put the adapter on. Make sure to smooth it out as best as you can so you don't get any unevenness under the adapter. Of course make sure the intake is clean of any old gasket material.

After its on follow these instructions to tune it.

If your hitachi's electric choke circuit is still functional, go with the electric choke.

Its as simple as extending one wire, and crimping one connector. They the Weber choke functions like stock. No need to run a manual cable, and the choke is activated at the push of the pedal.

Your parts list looks good. Though I dont know for certain if that is the correct adapter, and personally I think the weber air cleaners are garbage.

Your list is good. As for the air filter K&N makes one that size, I don't have a link but a google search will bring it up. The choke wire hooks on a round plastic thing on the carb. Usually one wire blue in color held on by a tiny nut. This is one of the easy swaps to do on a sube.

Alright guys I will be getting a new carb and stuff tonight it looks like. should get here next week. Hoping to basically just be able to bolt it on in one day.

One thing I am concerned about/don't know how to do it, is the water valves and pcv stuff (basically what do I need to plug?) I read Loyale 2.7's thread on it, but basically got confused because there are so many edits to it that say this is the way, no this is the way. So can someone clear it up for me?

*ea81

*because the filters available for that carb are CRAP. Its very hard to beat the filtration of the much larger, stock paper filter.

It also lets me utilize the exhaust heat stove for cold weather operation.

Oh and yeah i meant 81 my bad.

But it doesn't look as cool :( Was it hard to modify?

i think it looks way better than that chinsy POS filter that comes with the weber. And with as clean as my GL is, I like having the ability to keep it looking OEM.

Not terribly difficult.

Yes that filter setup will work. As for the PCV routing and vacuum hoses i used Loyale 2.7's first setup in his writeup. You need one vacuum to brake booster but thats in the intake and will not be changed by swapping carbs. 1 off the front of the carb to the Distributer and one to your heater controls off the intake on the passenger side of the car.
