Retro GL-10 TURBO build

my old baby now parts car 93 legacy turbo 426hp 390tq. built forged ej22t with ver8 STi heads all stock, on its way full race twin scroll bw S200SX 7670.

what i have done so far is striped down the xt6 for all its parts to convert. the block will take me a day to build, so ill get it ready on a later date. the full race should be on its way soon and my legacy turbo is still my dd.

when it gets warm out, i pull the legacy apart for the rest of my parts to go in the

what i have all ready for the car
(in legacy) ej22t, ver8 heads, sti 3.9 6mt non dccd, r180, vi-pec, bosch pump, brembos, bbs, cusco motor tranny mounts.

what is on the way
full race twin scroll, new bushings bearings oem, powder coat allot.

most likely
hsd coilovers, whitline products all over the place

maybe if i use wrx 4pot 2pot (leaning this way for light and stupid fast) enkei rally racing rims RC-G4 15" gold, r comp racing tires.

So lemme get this straight....

 

You're gonna take a PRISTINE GL-10 sedan, 5 lug swap it, ej22T swap it, 6 speed swap it, put WRX brakes on it, and drive the livin' hell out of it?!?!

 

SWEET!

 

I'm speachless, and I ain't sure why, it's either the end of a pristine GL-10, or the thought of what's about to happen to it .....

that thing will be one sweet ride...

 

however you are going to want some better brakes on that than just the XT6 brakes. talk to me about putting the turbo leg brakes on it.

 

and the 6 speed trans will not fit into a 86 trans tunnel, without modification. but im sure it can be done. it fits just fine in an 87.5+ GL.

 

i will be watching this thread. will be a sweet build.

Do I have a deal for you depending on what happens, would you be interested in buying the motor and tranny ? And to top it all off I have a spare motor and a spare tranny because a very long time ago I had a Xt turbo which is the same and you could have that free in the hole deal ! So 2xmotor 2xtranny I need space and I'm being buried alive under it all.

you live in NJ and I have a cuisine that lives right over on your side Ny. So if we did agree, I'll tell him to come get it and you can pick it up on your side :) !

The popular opinion agrees this car is rare due to the low mileage, clean condition, combined with a low year and model package. IT is worthy pof showroom collection.

 

As far as building up a car, one could find grandma's ld gl that diesd from lack of oil changes, and doesn't necessarily hae to be turbo to begin with.

 

Do a proper clean build, and leave the appearance and interior of the car as stock-looking as possible.

 

Did you pay a ridiculous price fr this car?

Hopefully you get the result youre after.... I think itll be sweet.

AWD

5 lug

WRX brakes

Lower

Etc etc etc... I have an 86 GL as well, but mines N/A and has 177K miles.

^^ yes i'm back and i tried to sell it to subaru america or canada no go with those to :horse: @E#@!$# !! LOL.... but it looks like you got a nice build going on all most like mine.

so today i took my little gl-10 out of storage i just love this car lol no pics yet the weather is crappy but ill take some soon.

 

so i started on the motor because i will be ordering some new old school parts from the dealer and it takes for ever ! cars to old lol.

so i found some good stuff, whiteline makes these parts

W81061 radius rod gl-10

W12249 steering rack gl-10

W51458 control arm bush xt6

 

also will get new sway bar bushings from whitline also.

 

and i found the part number for the trunk wing the little one on the back from the factory i got that coming in also.

Did you order the spoiler from Subaru?!?! I purchased a GL10 Turbo 4wd just like this but in lite blue.

 

i did order from subaru then my cuz said no it to old they will not bring it in :banghead:

 

 

..the wheels are 13"..I have 3 at home looking for another one ..very difficult to find that 4th wheel..

 

well if you want i can sell you all four and with brand new toyo tires i got on them !
