I have a 91' Legacy Turbo that i'm replacing the wheel bearings on, the problem is everything has come loose and is ready to have the bearing pressed in except I can't get the ABS sensor off. I took the bolt out that attaches it to the backing plate but it won't budge. Anyone have any ideas?? Thanks

i just did the same operation to replace my abs sensor, if you don't Need to do this, i would not recomend it.

once you remove the bolt, it won't budge- attached to the back of that plate is a cylinder that houses the sensor, that cylinder fits very snugly into a hole/tunnel/channel (whatever)

my replacement came from a junkyard, so i had the luxury of removing the entire strut/wheel assembly to get a better view. anyway, if you can get the right view/angle on the thing you will notivce that there is a small gap between the plate that had the bolt in it and the rest of the assembly. i inserted a screwdriver into the gap, pounded it in with the BFH, and the cylinder started to slide out, then i carefully pryed it out all the way.

to install onto my car, i lined the cylinder up with the hole, and used a rubber mallet to pound it back in. then put the bolt back in.

it is a Very tight fit.

anyway, dispite the blood sweat and swearing, once i did this, and hooked up the lead, and my abs works fine again.

if you have any other questions, you can email me direct at jclay@hotmail.com i'll be happy to help
