Well, thanks to the help of everyone on this board I was able to give my girlfriend her birthday present yesterday!

That thing looks pretty decent! You're luck that your girl would think an Old subaru is a good present, she is one of the very few..

I got the idea after she told me one day that she wanted an old subaru like mine (88 GL)
So I found it and fixed it up for her

My wife said of i were to give her an old subaru she would punch me. Then agaon she wont drive my beast one block to the grocery store

That is a Pretty Subaru, and will be Better with the Weber and Power windows... etc, that you Plan. But Also sounds like a Fun Project Car for you. 
My Wife somehow Preffer to Drive my Lifted 5MT BumbleBeast instead her Automatic Kia Sephia, she says that she prefers taller Cars... but I don't let her drive it too often.

There is a HUGE gap though between just "approving of", and then actually wanting one of her own.
