tracedog67
Fellers, I was about to top off the tranny fluid in my '97 OBW Limited 5 speed when the manual says not to mix the gear oils. If i were to just drain the fluid and add new how much would she hold and what type of gear oil should I use? the car has 217k miles on the original tranny and I bought it with 182k miles and I have yet to change it. thanks tdog
Soup
The Service Manual calls for 75w-90, or 80w-90, If you don't operate your car in low temps, I would use 80w-90, as the 75 is more expensive, and part synthetic. The trans capacity is 3.5 L, or 3.7 us qts. Dan
99obw
Don't put it all in at first. Put 3 or so quarts in and then fill it up the rest of the way using the dipstick. It is easy to get too much in there.
