Nice job, cool vids on youtube. Sandy, OR? not to far, maybe see you at a Subaru meet sometime?!?! Those must be your CL ads I've been perusing? :-p I keep hoping to see a gen2 rollbar or bullbar on there, lol :brow:

I saw in a previous post your running 195/75/14s. Same here, and yes I had to adjust the front suspension all the way up, still had to trim the fronts a little, and the backs rub oh so slightly depending on the articulation (sp?), though I'm running BFG A/T's so they are a little "knobby" I suppose.

the back on mine have never rubbed for some reason but the front ones rub just a little when theres a very sharp turn, so i need to adjust the front suspension and get it realigned so it handles good:D

i'm going to probably both subaru meets next year and you'll see mine there and maybe my dads, my roll bar came out of a 1st gen brat and my dads friend fabricated it to fit my 2nd gen and it fits good but i want to get it shortened so my canopy will fit on it:headbang:and the tires im running are all-season or summer can't remember

Got some parts in Bend:headbang:got 2 wheels, glove box door and shelf, and door handle plastic pieces:headbang::cool:also put on the parts besides the rims:D The parts came off a 83 wagon the guy used for parts for his dads 82 dl brat hard top. Engine/tranny in the wagon was really clean with only 70k on them before it got in a little accident. Had been sitting since before 2000 with tags expired.

  • 3 weeks later...

I haven't been working on my brat a whole lot(in need of a welder to fix wheel well, customize the roll bar so the canopy will fit on for winter, customize a brush guard/winch bumper) but figured out my tailgate handle problem:cool:
it was rusty and needed the handle part at the bottom and the emblem was scratched up really bad and non-repairable so i had two handles so im making 1 out of 2 im happy with the air brush i just got at harbor freight

To me, you got a good deal for all of those parts.

I'd cut all of the rust out of that tailgate, weld in new metal. Be sure the drain holes are open along the bottom. Seems that's the cause of rust along the bottom edge.

thats what i want to do, first i need a welder:o and then im set the tail gate will get fixed, the wheel well will get repaired, roll bar shortened, and custom front bumper also make rear bumper come closer to the car but i think i can do that with my drill

its been a while since i have been able to do anything since school started but i cut the rust out of the tail gate and am going to weld it back together since i got a welder:headbang:i made a frame for a set of subaru brat seats i have on craigslist right now for my dad https://post.craigslist.org/manage/3292193887 and i also took the gas tank off the 79 brat and found black build up on the inside from it sitting 16-18 years without much of anything done to it but sit for years, luckily there was no rust

picture update when facebook works thats where i keep pictures
