Hey,

I haven't posted much on here but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on making a cheap lift kit for an 82 GL wagon. I got a winch, 14" pug alloys, and a camo paint job. Im runnin about 26" tires and had to cut the front fenders a little to clear. Ive been wantin a lift but can't afford to buy one.

Has anyone done a homeade lift for their suby? Any suggestions would be awesome.

yo, word up from all us here at north end hardcore in washington, this is cody here and my buddy woody just did a 6 inch lift on his brat it pretty much consisted of hacked lift blocks off of a piece of 2x6 square stock and sticking it between the engine cross member, tranny cross member, and torsion bar. It looks burly. People keep asking me who drives the nice Toyota truck. I just look at them and smile and tell them that it's a Subaru. Keep fabbin' TL7.

yeah get 4x2 square tubing for a 4" lift and cut pieces to drop all the subframe components. You will have to link the pieces with square tubing for rigidity, and you will have to deal with extending the steering shaft and modifying the shifters. Check out subarubrats, adamndj, in the photogallery there should be some pics so you can see what I mean.
