Can i use a escort disy for fire and timing and a ecu for fuel on a ej22 in a trike.Iwas going to use a carb but was thinking maybe going this route. I would like to make this happen with as few sensors and wire as possible.I am sure i will get slamed for this but this or a carb.

Well, to make the fuel side of it work properly, you will still need timing, MAF, TPS, 02, etc.

Basically, if you were to go that far, all you'd need to do to have the ECU control ignition, is the wires for the ignitor and coil (6?). You're doing 90% of the work, and then adding in some extra complexity at the last minute.

And, if the ignition-related stuff isn't hooked up, the ECU will know that, and may not even give it any fuel.

Honestly it's a waste of time. I had a 68 VW type 3 that was fuel injected but still had a points ignition system. There were just as many sensors, switches, and wires on that engine as any other fully electronic one.

Either use a carb and disty or go for the full ECU control.
