smotocon1
I'm installing a MBC and am wondering if I should keep the stock solinoid pluged in and just plug the vacum lines. Or disconect it completly?
calebz
what year is your car? what solenoid are you referring to? Is it safe to assume you are refering to an EA82T? or is it something else?
smotocon1
sorry I keep forgetting to put that info in my posts. Its a 87 turbo GL-10 sedan with an auto tranny
calebz
On an 87, theres no solenoid to disconnect. the MBC goes in line on the hose coming off the wastegate.
smotocon1
so there is no factory boost control? then what do the two lines 1 from the waistgate 2 from the out of turbo go to then. I had a 91 legacy turbo and had to disconnect and plug those while leaving the solinoid plugged in. Is this a defferant system?
calebz
There is a boost control of sorts. its called a fuel cutoff.. after so many seconds of boost exceding 9-10psi, your fuel system shuts down for a second. On the 85-86 models, theres a hose/solenoid combo that you can unplug to disable the fuel cutoff, but not on 87+
