The tranny in my svx locks the torque when still cold and functions properly when normal temperature is achieved. In deccelaration 3rd gear does not engage. Anybody has answers to this moody tranny. And can one use a legacy auto transmission in an svx?

There is a difrence between the NA legacy and the SVX, but you could use the auto from the legacy with out problems, but you would probley also have to change the rear diff ratio to match the front diff.
