EJ22 heads aren't that heavy, maybe 30lbs each, or thereabouts. Today I lifted an ej22 longblock without accessories into the back of my outback without completely killing myself, and I'm not really a big guy. It can't be much over 200, if even that much.

Would it be about the same as a 25? I weighed an ej25 longblock with nothing bolted on but the flywheel and it was about 140lbs. The heads (not on for the longblock weight) were about 25lbs each.

Now that I think about it that motor had the oil pan and some oil too...

At one time I was deadlifting 465, and that summer I also pulled an EJ22 out of a junkyard car with help. When I got back to my house, I moved it out of the back of the EA82 turbo wagon I was driving at the time and walked maybe 30ft to a tire to sit it in. It's hard to judge weight because when deadlifting you're keeping the weight close to you, but when lifting something like an engine it's impossible to compare. The only problem is, it's just very awkward. I would say it was nearly as "difficult" as lifting my max deadlift weight, just becasue there's no real places to hold onto it. 262 sounds about right.

That's what people said about the 5MT I carried it down steps and moved it around with no problem at all.

Why not pick the motor up under the heads.
