You want to see something funny (if a bit sad) I saw a 85-86 red brat in Penn. IIRC and wrote notes down about it in hopes someone might know of its owners! (how lame is this? LOL)

 

Anywho, when i unpack tomorrow I'll find this piece of paper and post the specifics... I mean i have freeway, exit number and milemarker location as the house was so close to the freeway that a golfball trown from the cab of the truck would of hit this house the brat was parked at.

 

 

now about the last for weeks and reason for no phone calls from em as i wondered the states.....

 

phone numbers where written on a notepad... it got left upsatirs on the bed accidentally (does the Homer Simpson "DOH!") ah welll life is good.....

It's nice to see so many old Soobs still out and about. Gives me a lot of confidence in my car. I couldn't have hoped that my old Sentra would have lasted to 177,000, (poor thing got pretty sad at about 115,000) but the Subaru just keeps trucking. I can't kill it, and I've put it, and continue to put it through hell.

 

Kickass cars, these Subarus.

OKay, first off after unpacking i discovered that the piece of paper with the writting on it was left behind on Randy's truck. So, now after a lengthy time thinking over the CON-US Road Atlas here is the limits of my memory.

 

The road was on the north side of the free way. The road did something close to a 30 degree bend as it came close to the freeway. The house was almost ontop od the apex of this bend and had very little property between that road (on its north side) and the freeway on its south side.

 

The house had no garage but, the driveway was filled with the brat and two full sized 4WD trucks. One was a late model Chevy blaser IIRC and the other was a Ford pickup also 4WD. Both not looking too close to stock. The red brat was sorta up on jacks, had a red cap on its rear and had white wagon wheels.

I still think its a 85-86 design and was very stock looking.

 

The freeway we were traveling on was the Westbound side of I-78/81 in Penn. between Allentown and ... i think maybe Fredreicksburg....

 

well that's about it on the memory of it ....

 

 

Now for the funny Gen I wagon story.

In the late afternoon on I-40 headed westBound. Location is at an intersection just to the north of the freeway --actually it was a offramp traffic light intersection light below and slightly north og the freeway.

I-40 was making a slow sweeping curve to the south over this stretch of road... the street had service roads sorta paralleling the freeway.

 

I was sitting in the co-pilot seat relaxing before trying to take a nap in the sleeper and looked down at the intersection to see (I burst out laughing at my observation) there was a camel tan colored 77/78 model wagon sitting at the traffic light making a right turn to go north on that road...

 

Just last week on our final return from California in approx. the same area of I-40 while I was driving this time i saw what really could of been that same wagon, it had a A bar in front that was a bit rusty and the folks driving it had the windows down....

 

 

Now, here's the absurd part.... both of these sitings occured in the same area of the freeway unfortunately I don't know if it was in AZ or NM.

IF is was AZ then it was between Seligaman and Flagstaff. IF it was NM then it was somewhere close to Grants to Gallup area where there are small south sweeping arcs on the freeway.

 

In Virginia there was a divided hiway that we traveled heading east i do believe that is where the next oddity occured.... it was on a "Divided section of freeway" the state highway was 221/460 out of Roanoke.

 

There was this flatbed wrecker with no "lights on top" that had a blue 75-80 4WD wagon and it too had the white "A bar" on its front. The salvage yard wrecker was pulling out and heading towars Roanoke. :>)

 

There was also a 87/88 GL 4WD wagon at the Dealership in Roanoke where we had the topend rebuilt on the tractor. The subie driver was only there one of the two days and unfortunately i didn't get back to leave a reference to here on their windshiled. :>(

 

ah well..... that's enough for now... time to go be chores-wise productive for the rest of today folks......

LOL oh no man... I have only been drifting about the surface of the earth for the last few weeks. Fallen off would mean "Gravity" had decided to ignore me.... now that would be wild but, alas I am back. thanks for the kind thoughts too dude.

 

 

Good to see you back. I was starting to wonder if you had fallen off the face of the earth.
