heartless
Doing a 2.2 swap into a 98 Forester that had the DOHC 2.5 - do I purchase the Forester 2.5 radiator hoses, or the donor Legacy 2.2 hoses? (the existing 2.5 hoses got trashed by a careless "mess-chanic", and the 2.2 hoses are not in the best of shape either...) I am going to guess the 2.5 hoses, as they are a little longer? MilesFox
They should be the same either way. I would go with the 2.2. I cannot think of an obvious difference.
heartless
there are different part numbers listed on Advance website - and differences in length as well... hmmm...maybe go with the longest version of each and trim to fit!

If you're getting parts store hoses or Dayco for instance they usually get cut to fit. The hoses shoul dbe the same though 2.5 & 2.2. 86BRATMAN
the difference may be because you're 2.5 car in this case is a forester, I can't think of any reason they would be different otherwise.

WoodsWagon
Go with the hoses that match the body, the engines are identical.
