Hey all.

Here's my new Sube project.

http://postimg.org/gallery/cix6535a/

Pretty nice for 700 bucks, of course there's no engine and the front's been damaged...

But still, great interior, only 134K, so I can't wait to get to work on it.

My only question is, it's a 2000 Legacy that had a 2.5 in it.

Can you put the more modern H6 or 6 cyliner engines in this vehicle,

or that's pretty much a fantasy?

Just wondering if it's possible, while I'm shopping around for an engine.

thanks.

Any feedback welcome.

Dan

You could buy a wrecked 2001 Outback and gut the whole car and move everything from the one car into the other resulting in(if you wish) a lifted sedan with the bigger motor.   But that would be about the only way I can see to do it in a reasonable cost manner.  I would just fix this car up.

Feasible but H6s are expensive and you need all of the wiring, control module, and probably the trans and rear diff. Basically need a whole parts car.

SOHC 2.5 for that car is a reliable engine and they aren't terribly expensive anymore. Should be able to find one for $500-$800. Pop it in with a new TB and go.
