2.5" shop vac hose $29, 3" hole saw $16, roll of ductape $8.99, various hose clamps, free.

being able to do this; priceless.

I'll get a pic of how its routed and hooked up tomorrow.

still need to finish water proofing it but its a good start... i think water actually went into the intake side of the snorkle lol.

its a temporary way of attaching the hose to the carb air box. i have to figure out something more.. air tight. like a carb hat or something

I used the hose clamps to mount it. i screwed them on with self taping screws and clamped the hosed down.

I put it together in about an hr including the trip to lowes, at about 6 am before i went out wheeling.

First off route the tubing up higher in the inner fender,In the short time that has been there it has already gotten some road rash/rubbing from the tire.As for a better solution cut the snout of the airbox off and weld on a piece of tubing that will fit inside your tubing. Then hoseclamp + RTV your flex tube to the airbox.

Cut off the "warm up" flapper too.  That will be an open spot to suck in water when cold  (could open suddenly even with warm engine when submerged......underwater does funny things to temp related equipment)

you might need to work on your hands/brain interface thing.Similar to driving a manual, clutch in, engage brain, clutch out, easy dont stall it or you will back up traffic... :)

my problem on test day my brain is like an old car with a bad carb.I stall it the first question then its like this through the test.

so after a couple hours of RTV and replacing hoses im finally happy with it. the biggest problem was the lid for the aircleaner wouldnt seal. so i had to put a piece of split hose around the rim. the snorkle actually sucks now... doesnt quite stall the motor but im not %100 sure subarus even need air anyways.
