Hey all!

I've been poking around the site searching for info on 6-Speed swap.

I'm trying to find out who has paired a 6-Speed to their EJ motors and what all it entailed.

In the mean time...

With a 3.9 final drive it seems the most logical way to do this would be find a donor '04 STi (5x100 hubs) and gearbox.  Unclear on what driveshaft is going to work with this.

So what all was involved with getting that in?

It bolted right up. You can even use a 5spd clutch and flywheel if you need to. In a Forester, it requires you to use a Forester automatic driveshaft, unless you remove the factory lift, then you can use an STi sriveshaft and tranny crossmember. If you use the Forester driveshaft, and you change to an STi R180 rear diff, you need to change the pinion flange on the rear diff. Front hubs are the same, so you can use Forester or Impreza front axles. The rear hubs are different if you go with an R180, so you need STi rear hubs, and axles. Or you can use an older R160 with the same final drive as the transmission, and use the Forester rear hubs, and axles to match the diff.

Stellar write up!  Still looking for others out there who've done this, or are planning to do one.
