I'm new to this forum but not to Subaru. I have been a mechanic for many years but only replace bad automatic transmissions. The problem I am having is we noticed atf leaking from the vent on top of the automatic transmission. The front differential fluid level is right at the full line without any atf containation. However the transmission fluid level was just touching the bottom of the stick. This transmission has been overhauled 10 months ago and till the leak was noticed has worked perfectly. I may buy this car from the owner but was wondering about fixing the leak rather then replacing the entire transmission. The trans rebuild shop is not standing behind their work and say it is a separate problem.

Thank you DanaW
