Sweet82
Ever since I went through the San Rafael Swell a few weeks ago, my tail gate is squeeking. Is there any known squeeking problem areas or is this a ride in the back to isolate the squeek? Its bump sensitive and comming from the plastic in the actual tail gate. I have used paper to stop squeeks on other cars. Any suggestions? Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
LosDiosDeVerde86
I would make sure all of the panels are screwed in tightly and that there's no panels rubbing against eachother. Also maybe try spraying the hinges with PB Blaster. I've got a bump-sensitive squeek in the front of my car and it's the front bumper cover rubbing against the left front fender. might want to check that out in the rear. the bumper covers are really only held on by plastic screw-clips. Sweet82
I finally figured it out! It was the Butler with a Candlestick in the Study! I couldn't take it any longer and had to deal with it. It was me or the squeek! One had to go........ I found the switch on the RHS of the hatch was the culprit. I put a short piece of electrical tape on top of the switch to pad between the switch and the rubber bumper. No more squeeking! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester, quieter now!
