The reason for my "alias" scooner.

The reason for the name Scooner is because back in 2006 I had just started in the elevator trade working for Otis Elevator in Denver and I wanted a car that was good on gas because I had to drive all over the state including wyoming and western nebraska. My parents had an awesome 76' wagon 4WD when I was kid and I remember them always talking about subarus being good in the snow. So me and buddy were driving to Safeway one day and on the side of the road was a white 91' Loyale wagon 5 speed pushbutton 4WD, the dude wanted $300 because it had tranny problems. It ran perfect and the tranny wasn't that bad but I ended up buying a good used one from super rupair for $150, if I would've been better versed in subarus I would've put in a dual range from a GL but it still worked great for me. The reason for the alias scooner is because we couldn't quite think of what this new wagon resembled to us. It was white with blue interior and the front stock bumper seemed to jut out like a boat, a sailboat! We soon named it the scooner and it just stuck, every subaru I've owned since has been named scooner, this wagon is currently Scooner 8. I posted a pic of Scooner 6 in the picture thread of 80's GL's etc. I've been obsessed with GLs/Loyales ever since!

This car is a 1992 Subaru Loyale, 4" lift, 27X8.50R14 General Grabber AT2s, full rear disc conversion, dual range 5 speed from an 88' GL. EJ22 swap from a 90' Legacy, 15% tinted windows, Curt towing hitch, thule cross bars, custom welded front bumper im still working on, Pyle cd playerless stereo (so it fits all the way into the opening), GL side trim.

I was cruising back from an elevator way way out in Torrington, Wyoming and decided to drive through a small town because I had seen some old cars. There were a couple of torino gts so I thought I'd take a closer look, there was this little white beauty sitting in the yard! No rust I could see and complete. I left a note saying I'd buy it if they ever wanted to sell it but the place looked abandoned. There was also a loyale there, i'll put a pic up of that too. What a waste.

I remembered the guy I bought the car from, (Orion from Lafayette, CO) gave me two rear diffs when I bought the car. One was a welded and the other was original, thought it'd be interesting to see the inside and see exactly where guys weld them because I'd never seen one. So here it is, you can see the welds in the center so both axles spin together. Whoever did this did a good job the welds are thick and strong. On the outside of the case was marked W10 and 756. On the large ring inside it was stamped H39:10 BL 6 1 21. Maybe someone on here knows exactly what these numbers mean? Also, if someone else wants to buy these I dont need them.

Wanted to go to the lumber store and get some wood, opened the garage door and though, "screw that." So I took my rims out from under the bench and took a pic to share, they are 14x6 datsun wheels I wanted to mount 195/75R14 Bf Goodrich All Terrains. Does anyone on here have a pic of this wheel/tire combo?

Yeah that's a good idea, next time I swing through i'll have to get them. That is if I dont get shot first. I really want that white one, the loyale isn't too interesting to me as I've owned 3 of them so far.

If you can make contact with the owner (without getting shot) see what kind of offer they would take for the bra on the Loyale. I'd most definitely be interested in it if it's a fair price and in OK shape. Naturally this is if it's not too much trouble for you.

Also; congrats on the little one! Beautiful baby!

No problem, I think it was in okay shape. Thanks, the little snug bug is doin great! It's funny how much you forget how exciting it is to have a newborn again, (our first son will be 3 this summer.) But definitely next time I go up that way i'll check on that bra for you...and maybe buy a white GL wagon too ;)

20140306_165902-1_zpse6b1c53b.jpgheck out my new utility trailer I bought with a gift card we received from remax for being a veteran and buying a house through them. Picked the trailer up brand new from lowes for $548!! The original price is $699 but someone screwed up and left a two year old sales tag on this particular one. Its a 5x8 with folding ramp. I flipped the axle after work to "lift it", was really easy and now has a decent ride height with my lifted loyale.

Yeah, you bet. I bought a Curt model 11275 hitch off of amazon, they're about a hundred bucks. The wiring I did completely separately and made my own plug so I could run blinkers. The 4 pin plug wasn't going to be an easy plug and play thing. The hitch came with all of the hardware and good instructions as well, the only thing I changed is I put a 1/4 inch steel plate about 15" long on the top side of the bolts that held the front part of the hitch to the car just to sandwich it better. If photobucket wasn't such a pile or crap id show you a picture haha.
