Subaru Fan - Wife
HI Sube Fans; My husband's 1998 Outback Legacy Limited wagon is going to the graveyard soon. Darned thing's had an open heart surgery a few years ago I'm still paying on! I'm going to give him back the 2009 Outback wagon he picked out 5 years ago (no sunroof). We spotted a 2007 automatic WRX for sale - 95K miles on it. Engine's the same as I have in the wagon, 2.5ltr. If you were looking at this "older" car - what would be your focus areas of scrutiny? for example, the old Ford pickup trucks always fogged up the windshield in the winter...Chevy Sierra's blew through ball joints like tissues! Are there known issues of the WRX/Auto/Turbo 2.5ltr? I've had the Baja (? yr ?) but got rid of it because it "Chortled" when going uphill around 35mph. Darned dealership tried telling me it was the poor gas in Maine; HUH! I'm not stupid and it wasn't my first / nor last Subaru. There was something wrong with that - I know. Thanks for your input!
