So today the light came one...went and got it pulled...it was the 'fuel trim malfunction #0170'

I looked into it...and on an Impreze board there was something about:

P0107 means "Pressure sensor circuit low input." This is a problem with your Intake Air Temperature and Pressure Sensor, or its wiring.

I took off the cone filter and put the old one back on...so something is obstructing the air from getting in? Is it used to a lot of air now? It runs fine...no problems. Should I be worried and start pulling stuff apart on the air filter?

Thanks.

I am gonna go to a junkyard and get a new MAF sensor and pipe. Right now mine is glued to the box from how I modified it for the cone filter...so I really prob. only need that part that bolts on...but I prob. have to get the entire thing

UPDATE:

I pulled the battery cable, made sure everything was connected good...and took it for a drive and the light hasn't come on again yet...so I hope that solved it and it was just a one time thing.

I really dont know anything about that code you got, but if you think it might be a sensor malfunction I might have some info.

I have not experienced myself but I have heard that the oil on the membrane of most performance air filters gets sucked into the tubes and can play havoc with any sensors it touches.

I have been told by many mechanics and even a couple of tuners that it is better to go with a dry filter like Fram and just replace it more often. the performance filters really don’t do that much anyway. a clean OEM paper filter has just as good flow.
