ctsuby Posted June 6, 2014 Share Posted June 6, 2014 Greetings, I have an opportunity to purchase a mint 2006 SLGT Turbo, 5spd, 129k miles with a blown turbo. The car starts but runs rough. Owner thought engine had died, but was surprised when I started it. I have done some research on the "Blown Turbo" issues and understand that it could be inline filters or simply abuse. Rebuilts are available and affordable. Concerned about the block. Does the blown turbo cause rough idle? Could there be other damage that I should be aware of? Is there any way I can install a non-turbo 2.5L DOHC in this car? JDM perhaps? or can I find another block or complete engine and get a rebuilt turbo to replace?
