kubrickgilliam
1999' Subaru legacy L, 2.2. Alternator power cord fried completely. How to replace? New wire? New connector? Can't find much help on forums. Found a generic post about it: http://forums.anandtech.com/archive/index.php/t-2162614.html Pretty similar problem. Replace alternator as well? Can't upload pic, says 2MB max, and mine was 1.8 MB and error on upload. Thanks, Tim
1 Lucky Texan
def. take the alt. down to the parts store for testing. (you a movie buff?)
Fairtax4me
The charge cable fried? Or the smaller wires for the plug fried? The only reason wires cook is because too many amps are moving through them. If there was corrosion inside the wires that lowers their carrying capacity and will cause them to fry easier. Gloyale
Just splice in a new wire of appropriate gauge.
