..by a dozy woman in a queue coming off a highway. She was doing about 10 miles an hour, and I had just stopped. CRACK! BANG! My car lept forward, felt like my clutch cable snapped. I managed to stop again before hitting the guy in front of me.

Now, this is always a pain, but of course her insurance is paying for it...BUT I only just finished my new exhaust system, new mid pipe and performance silencer. I have run into some fitment issues and finally got everything the way it should last Friday. She hit me hard enough to bash my silencer. Well, I call it that, but it ain't silent anymore. Think she bent the flange to the mid pipe and it's leaking.

ARGH!

I know the feeling. The day after Thanksgiving 2003 a nurse apparently dozed off and rear ended my Forester. I was stoped at the time. :banghead: She wiped out the tailpipe, trim piece and muffler among other damage. I asked her what the f*** was she thinking. She then told me she had insurance. I told her I didn't care what the f*** she had. After we exchanged information I was so mad I left her stranded in the rain. :D

When I was into modding my Legacy and stuff, I had rims, intake, and lots of other plans for it, and then some kid couldn't understand the lane he was in and T-boned me from an angle. Here's how distraught and PO'ed I was: We got out, he told me he was gonna leave and get his info, I let him go, and never got his tag #!!! I paid for all the damage repair myself coz I was so dumb. Yeah I had an excuse, because honestly I was in tears. That Legacy means more to me than many people I know, and to see that was just heartbreaking.

But yeah, let em have it Setright. Tell them how you want the exhaust redone and don't be satisfied until they do it right. You spent the time and money on that, it needs to be fixed properly!

Thanks for the concern! I am fine, had my doctor check out my spine immediately afterward. "Terri" has had her bumper pushed in about half an inch, and the paint is cracked. Dealer will pull the bumper off and check for more damage.

The woman who hit me wasn't hurt at all. Though she did seem to start seeping tears when she pulled away.

I am going to make sure the dealer understands that my custom exhaust system MUST be fixed 100%.

Be careful out there!

Sorry, I was lucky. I seen my rearenf happen, I was stopped a red firebird was going about 10 MPH, he hit me and it felt like he was under my car and lifted me up. (low firebird front-ends) He pulled back out before i got out. I look at the car, no damage beside slightly bent license plate. I also picked red fiberglass and paint out of the exhaust. Too bad for him, fiberglass and all.

Hope things get fixed okay

Well, so far the bumper has come off, been re-painted, mounted, and the car is back with me. Dealer was kind enough to lend me a standard silencer while we wait for a new performance silencer to arrive.....probably four weeks!!!!
