What if wheels

Recommended Posts

The wheels are JDM STi wheels from 94 to 96, they are 16X6.5's and they are a 5X100 bolt pattern. And yes, they are just laying up against the car, wasn't trying to fool anyone. The problem is that the tires on them are not US models and can't not be legally driven on US highways. There are only two good tires, so I'd have to buy new tires. The problem with that is that I should finish my project car this Summer, then I'll be selling this car. The wheels and tires would add over $1000 to the price. Anyone willing to pay me $2300 for this car with those wheels and almost new tires?

There's a good chance those will not fit on your car without a spacer. I don't know what the exact offset of those rims is, but it's probably around +48-53. Somewhere in there most likely. Our offset is +42, so a wider wheel won't fit. For instance, Pugs fit because they only have a +20 or so offset. In Australia some people have 5x100 adapter plates for such a conversion. The thickness of the adapter makes up for the width and offset differences. I've never seen them though, only read about 'em.

Here's an example of converting to a 6.5' rim with a +50 offset -

Clearance from strut housing to inside of wheel = 27mm LESS

Extension of outside edge of wheel = 11mm MORE

Well, since I'd be using an Impreza strut, knuckle, and brakes up front, I'm sure it will work in front, but the rear is question able. I had a set of wheels with a +48 offset on UltimateRX (my first 4 to 5 bolt conversion) and those wheels fit fine.
