TPaul Posted December 6, 2014 Share Posted December 6, 2014 My 1992 subaru loyale broke timing belt due to tensioner seizing. Belts replaced with marks on crankshaft pulley 180 or opposite with flywheel set at middle mark. Car would not start. Has spark and TDC and distributor seem fine. Has gas. Any suggestions? stratman977 Posted December 6, 2014 Share Posted December 6, 2014 (edited) I bet your'e 180 off on the timing, basically sparking on the exhaust stroke. try swapping the wires for the front two cyls and the back two on the distributor and see if it fires.
