mikaleda
You could have the system pressure tested see if you can see any leaks in the system. I saw a pinhole leak in an upper rad hose on a Subaru once that caused a similar condition
legacy603
I thought the same thing but the only hoses that are not brand new are the heater core hoses
Fairtax4me
These can often leak very slowly from the thermostat housing. Intake Manifold gaskets do not see any coolant on these engines. There is a coolant crossover pipe on top of the block beneath the manifold that has separate gaskets. Those can leak as well, but are not very common leak points. legacy603
OK that makes sense is it possible that my heater core is going without leaking. My heat has started to go in and out but not a lot maybe for 30 seconds or so
keith3267
OK that makes sense is it possible that my heater core is going without leaking. My heat has started to go in and out but not a lot maybe for 30 seconds or so This would be a good starting point, but start with the hoses first. A leak at the end of a hose could appear to be a heater core leak, and since the hoses are a whole lot easier to replace than the core, that's where I would start. Then do the pressure test or do the pressure test first and look at the ends of the heater hoses for leaks.
