spicypeanut
So after I cleaned everything up, and reinstalled the wheel, my horn doesn't respond like it used to. Before I took the wheel off, the horn would engage as soon as i pressed the horn button. And it wouldn't stop until I released the button. (It worked as it should) Now I have to fidget with the button until the horn sort of works, then doesn't, then does again. Can someone explain to me how the horn works? I assume that bronze finger makes contact with the metal ring on the back side of the steering wheel. But I'm not sure where to look to see the issue. djcommie
Usually its corrosion on the little finger contact itself, but it may be the brass circular contact is warped or corroded as well.
spicypeanut
Just wanted to follow up on this since I forgot I posted. Some of the grease from the steering shaft got on the contacts of the steering wheel which was interrupting the circuit. Wiped it down and works perfect again.
