soopsoop Posted February 9, 2015 Share Posted February 9, 2015 my caliper broke because i towed without axles in my 88 sw do i just have to replace the calipers and rotors,the brakes were dragging and the rotor got red hot and the brakeline broke when the wheel went sideways and brake fluid is flamable.i put it out with water from the mud puddle along side of the road lots of fun next time use a tow dolly,50.00 dollars a day,less stress. After....the smoke clears, literally, I hope things get straightened out for you and your Subaru. If Napa will not give you a refund on those axles, hang on to them. They are probably meant for an automatic 88 Subaru and someone on this board might trade you or buy them from you.
