I have 97 outback that has a cylinder 2 misfire if I drive it up a hill when the engine is still cold on cold mornings. I have tried changing plugs, ignition wires, air filter, and cleaning the pcv valve. Anyone have any other suggestions?

I paid a shop to do a hot/cold compression test.  The test did not show any problems.   I've tried swaping the inject from cylinder two to cylinder 4.   But i still get a cylinder 2  misfire from time to time.   any other suggestions?

Maybe bad cold coil pack?? That is why swapping fuel injectors remained at cylinder 2. Subarus are mechanically sound, so not surprised that a compression test came back negative. I suspect your trouble is electrical or electronic.
