bommar81 Posted March 21, 2015 Share Posted March 21, 2015 Car heat gauge goes to normal but blows cold air, upper hose looks like it has been sucked in, where is the t-stat located in a 1999 Outback legacy wagon? Legacy777 Posted March 22, 2015 Share Posted March 22, 2015 Welcome to the USMB. The t-stat is located on the bottom side of the engine. where the lower radiator hose attaches. I would also check the radiator cap as it sounds like it may not be allowing the coolant from the expansion bottle to be sucked back in when the coolant contracts. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
